Al leaving drinks

J and I joined A for his leaving drinks.  We started in a traditional old pub near his (old) workplace.  Shortly after we left for Dirty Dick's where we listened to a weird blue-grass swamp band until it was time to head home.  Most amusing :)

Home office benefits...

It's hot and muggy and after a busy morning what do you want more than a beer? Well, the joys of working at home mean I can :) Ok ok, actually it is the last alcohol free Cobra we have in the fridge and I topped it up with lemonade to make a shandy - will leave the real beer until tonight...

Beer Tokens *DO* exist - I have proof!

A and I visisted our local pub after the KNW meeting last night. As we arrived they were half way through a pub quiz and just taking a break. The lanlord (R) sauntered over and asked if we wanted to catch up. Seeing as it was a free quiz we thought we'd go for it. We rattled through 20 questions and then sat down to join in for the last 20. Well, we won (by some margin)! Not only that but we were then given the prize (unexpected) which was a 'gallon of beer', or in reality 8 1-pint beer tokens valid for 7 days! WOOHOO - BEER TOKENS - FREE BEER!!
