Sweden

K and I went for a long weekend to Sweden to see family. We stayed with M&C right in the middle of Gothenberg giving us access to all the coffee shops and restaurants. Whilst there we went to the SAAB factory museum, a place that stocked more than 2,000 different beers and a very nice place to eat by the sea. Great relaxing weekend and great to see everyone again.

Breakfast at Egg and Milk

Baby Elks

Whilst in Sweden I got to go check out the new baby Elks that had recently arrived. Luckily they were to be seen and I shot a few photos...

Swedish Signs :)

When I go overseas there are always some signs that make me laugh....

Flyme to Sweden

K and I went to Sweden this weekend and, for a change, did not fly with RyanAir but used FlyMe instead. All I can say is that I will never use RA to Sweden again. From the service at the check-in desk to the seat reservation to the ammount of room on-board....everything was first class in comparisom to RA's 'cattle class'. I was very impressed!

Rich plays LIVE!

Went out in Yeovil last night, well, by 'went out' I mean I was working late and in between waiting for processes to finish we went for a beer or two. Anyway, we get to this one bar and they are having an open mic night. As you can see from below I managed to get invited on stage to jam along...twice! Great fun!

Stonehenge

Whilst driving down to Yeovil (am working there) I passed Stonehenge. Managed to snap off a shot - excuse the angle!

Garden - day 4

No work being done today but it recommences tomorrow (And should be finished). These pics show how far they got yesterday with pretty much all the turf laid and the cables to the embassy burried.

Garden - day 3

Day 3 in the garden and turf is about to go down...

ClaimID

More than one of 'insert your name here' out there on the net? There is with me - just google Richard Haigh and you'll see. So, I was listening to 'inside the net' the other day and these guys from claimid were on. You sign up, are verified and then you have a page where you can link your actual sites and even say if there are sites out there that look like you but are not. I signed up with rakh1, Richie-Rich and Richard Haigh.

Worrying webcam shots

Worrying when you see this in your front garden webcam ;)

This is freaky - stare at the orange and blue image for a while concentrating on the dot. When it changes you will see a full colour image - however it is really black and white. If you move your eyes the illusion is broken and you see the black and white image. Strange hey!

Best lunch time ever!!!! EVER!!!

Today at lunch a momentous event occured in R's life. Something he has wanted to do since he was 5. Something so special he is now afraid life will never be the same. Rich got to drive a digger...for real!!! The gardeners gave me a 5 mins instruction briefing and then I was on my own. I dug a hole, I swivelled around, I moved mud. It was bliss.

Garden - day 2

Started to dig the foundations for the new patio area and have built up the lawn to the base of the embassy plinth...

Another life ambition fulfilled...

I got to play with a digger last night - well, couldn't start it but I had a good look anyway :)

More than 1 gmail account.....

Hi all,

I have a few gmail accounts and it has annoyed me a lot that the gmail notifier only allows you to watch one at a time. So - I went looking for a 3rd party solution.

Step up GMailScout, nice easy interface and effective...

Garden gets underway

Day 1 of garden renovations: most of the rubbish out the back has been removed, the rear area has been levelled and best of all there has been a miini-JCB buzzing around all afternoon :)

Micqui's House

K and I went to Coventry last night to stay with Micqui in her house. Whilst there we drank lots of wine, I fixed her computer and K stole some of her art! :)

Kent Alumni Magazine

I made it into print for the first time in my life :) About 2 months ago I went to help with the annual alumni careers fair. Whilst there I was asked to be in the magazine and accepted. A few photos and a questionaire later....

TEAC MC-DX20S

Bought a new stereo for the bedroom so that the old one can go to the Embassy for use with the outdoor speakers. This new one has flat-panel speakers and a sub :) It also has an aux input for the ipod.

Time to change...

Well, I think I have made my mind up and decided to change over from MSN to Blogspot. The control over the site is far far better and the images appear to be easier to handle. So - watch this space from now on blog-viewers and keep those comments coming!
